NSW: Epping to Chatswood rail link finally opened
SYDNEY, Feb 23 AAP - The long-awaited Epping to Chatswood rail link in Sydney's north
has opened, with NSW Premier Nathan Rees and Transport Minister David Campbell enjoying
a trouble-free ride on its first train.
The 12.5km long link, which cost $2.3 billion to complete, is three years late and
$1 billion over budget but on Monday morning everything went smoothly.
The premier and Mr Campbell joined a hand-picked contingent of railway workers to test
ride the service, before the first members of the public boarded a regular service at
Chatswood …
