Right-hander Jake Peavy will head to Class AAA Charlotte on Monday for three planned rehab starts and a timetable that might have him pitching for the White Sox in three weeks.
That timetable even might be shorter, said pitching coach Don Cooper and general manager Ken Williams, who watched Peavy throw a simulated game Saturday at U.S. Cellular Field.
''From what I saw today, when he gets his legs under him and arm strength back, we're going to have another good pitcher,'' Cooper said.
Said Williams: ''I said I would like three rehab starts, but based on what I saw today, I expect him to say he doesn't need three.''
