China Railway Express Marches into E-commerce

BEIJING, Apr 07, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China Railway Express Co., Ltd., directly affiliated to the Ministry of Railways, becomes another logistics company marching into the e-commerce market.

The company launched a public online trading platform "express mall" that, different from traditional e-commerce, is positioned to be "public welfare" because the mall does not charge store insert fees and advertisement fees and does not make money from selling price difference.

China Railway Express Vice General Manager Feng Shiqi showed that the mall aims to provide a cooperation, development, and win-win online operation platform for merchants that settle at it. The merchants are only required to pay attention to the development and offline operation of products and the mall will open new operation channels for them and provide one-stop service integrating sale, storage, distribution, and payment collection.

Currently, over 60 enterprises, together with nearly 2,000 kinds of commodities, settle at the mall, involving leisure food, fruit beverage, agricultural by-products, fast food, home appliance, and maternal and child toys.
